Chez la famille Igiby, le goût de l’aventure se transmet de génération en génération. Janner, son frère Tink, et leur petite sœur handicapée Leeli, partent explorer leur monde, qui est tout sauf ordinaire, mais peuplé de créatures effrayantes comme des dragons de mers et des vaches dotées de crocs. Les trois enfants vont découvrir des secrets de famille bien gardés, et ils auront bien besoin de leurs dons particuliers et de l’amour de leur mère et de leur grand-père, un ex-pirate, pour affronter les Fang, les méchants reptiles qui sèment la terreur dans leur village de Glipwood.
